Meet the Founders

  • Kaj Larsen

    PRESIDENT

    Kaj has devoted his post Naval career to serving veterans and the military community. He used his pay from the service to help start The Mission Continues and served on the Board of Directors for five years. He also served on the Board of Advisors for Team Rubicon. He is a member of Force Blue, a veterans service organization that repurposes combat diving skills for ocean conservation. Now as President of the Guild Foundation he is on a mission to close the wealth and knowledge gap between the private sector and the military community.

  • Sean Bonner

    TREASURER

    It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to help your community. With careers in both investing and the military, Sean chose both by founding Guild to educate his fellow military brothers and sisters after realizing that many active members are left to fend for themselves financially.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

  • ADM Ken Braithwaite

    Admiral Ken Braithwaite is an American politician, diplomat, businessman and naval officer who served as the 77th secretary of the Navy from May 29, 2020, to January 20, 2021 in the Donald Trump administration. Prior to that, he served as the U.S. ambassador to Norway, beginning February 8, 2018. Braithwaite is a retired U.S. Navy one-star rear admiral, having served in the Iraq War.

    He is devoting his post service time and his leadership position with the Guild Foundation to improving the financial literacy of the military community.

  • Kathleen Benjamin ESQ.

    Katie practices in the areas of wills and trusts, estate, gift, and GST tax planning, charitable planning, fiduciary income taxation, trust and estate administration, and real estate.

    She received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009, a Juris Doctorate from Villanova Law School in 2012, and a Master of Laws in Taxation from Villanova Law School in 2014.

    Prior to joining Simses & Associates, Katie practiced at a preeminent national defense law firm, in its Philadelphia office. While in law school, she was an intern for The Honorable John R. Padova, in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

    Katie is admitted to practice law in Florida, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association. She is also involved in a number of community organizations.
